Friends
of the Library and Worcester County Library
Foundation
There are Friends of the Library organizations
at the Berlin, Ocean City and Ocean Pines branch
libraries. Friends support their libraries by
volunteering, raising money and spending it
for the benefit of the library facilities and
services, and speaking as advocates for the
library. Friends organizations are always looking
for new members to help their efforts. Information
about joining and supporting a Friends of the
Library group can be found at the branch libraries.
The Worcester County Library Foundation, Inc.
is a not-for-profit, tax-exempt, 501(c)(3) organization
which exists to support and enhance library service
in this County.
With your support, the Foundation assists the
library in presenting a wide range of interesting
and educational events – from book and poetry
discussions, to spirited exchanges about foreign
policy, to cooking classes, to demonstrations
of local arts and crafts.
With your support, the Foundation helps the
library to acquire extra copies of new, popular,
and important books so you can read them while
they are still making news and provoking conversations.
With your support, the Foundation helps the
library to present fun and stimulating programs
and activities for children and teens.
The Worcester County Library Foundation can
help the library to maintain and accelerate
the momentum that has been building in recent
years. The people of Worcester County are increasingly
turning to a valuable community resource they
share in common – their public library.
The Foundation keeps careful track of gift
designations by branch library and by area of
interest. So if you want to designate a gift
for just your local branch, or just for books,
or just for computer technology, you can be
assured that your wishes will be followed.
