Apply for
a Library Card
If you live, work, go to school or own property
in Worcester County you are eligible for a free
library card. Maryland residents with acceptable ID are eligible for a free Worcester County Library card. Non-residents can obtain a library card for an annual fee of $10.
Young people, under 18 years old,
must have a parent's or guardian's signature
to obtain a card. Please bring identification
or verification of residency. Cards are valid
for three years and may be used at all public
libraries throughout Maryland. If you do not
have a library card you may register for a temporary
online registration number. Your temporary number
will authenticate access to many of the library's
electronic databases and allow you to place
holds on library materials. Please
Honor System Books
Each branch has a collection of "Honor System"
books, mainly paperback, that are available
to the public. A library card is not required
to check out these books. We accept paperback
donations as well.
