Holiday season is approaching – what better time to stay focused on managing your money well? The University of Maryland Extension educational service is offering FREE workshops that can help you set and achieve personal financial management goals. Based on the award-winning system called Small Steps to Health and Wealth™ a 90 minute workshop will show you simple ways to: Track current behavior; Commit to making a change; Make progress & meet yourself halfway; Control your environment; and Monitor progress & reward success!

Writing for Wellness

Research has shown that writing about stressful experiences, like illness, may boost health & psychological well-being. Group uses exercises to process emotions and to stimulate creative expression. No prior writing experience needed.

Children will be introduced to songs, games, finger plays and movement activities. Parents and caregivers will learn new ways to interact with their children. For children under 2 years and their caregiver.

Bus leaves from behind the Snow Hill Post Office at 7 am and from the Ocean Pines Library at 7:30 am on Tuesday, October 28. We will return at approximately 10 pm on Wednesday, October 29. Wednesday, October 29, November 5, 12 & 19 - 8 to 9:30 am
Location: Ocean Pines Branch
On the first 2 Wednesdays Microsoft Word is introduced, which includes working with format, fonts, copy/paste & cut/paste; also accessing the Internet and using e-mail. An e-mail account will be created if needed. On the third and fourth Wednesday there will be further work with Microsoft Word and more aspects of e-mail, to include creating and receiving attachments. Online banking, purchasing and research will also be covered. Limited to 8 participants. Pre-registration is required. Please call 410-208-4014.

What do you do with your favorite shirt that has a grease stain on it? How about those jeans with a huge hole? Do you have a piece of clothing that you love the fabric, but it looks terrible on? Learn to re-purpose these items to make one-of-a-kind artistic clothing. Several techniques will be demonstrated as well as completed projects.

Ocean City Life Saving Museum Series: “The Storm of the Century”

In March 1962, Ocean City experienced a violent, three-day storm more devastating to the town than any in its history. By the time the storm peaked, sea levels were 9 1/2 feet above normal. See video and photographs and hear first-hand accounts from the residents who survived the storm of the century. Bunk Mann will be on site with his new book.

Shared Visions

Location: O.C. Center for the Arts, Ocean City, MD
Shared Visions: the collaborative works of local literary and visual artists will open the 2015 year at the Ocean City Center for the Arts. This joint exhibit will be on display throughout the entire month of January. We cordially invite visitors to join us for the Opening Reception, January 2, 2015, and then to return, often, throughout the month to enjoy the exhibit. The formal presentation of literary works will be held, 6-8 p.m., January 20, 2015. Come chat with the visual and literary artists and enjoy their blended 'visions'. Refreshments will be served.

Cinderella ~ Ballet Theatre of Maryland
