The Poetry of Emily Dickinson - A BIG READ EVENT
Wednesday, April 27, 2016 - 2:00 PM
Location: Taylor House Museum
Many early editions of Emily Dickinson’s poetry were re-punctuated by the editor. To re-punctuate Dickinson is often to re-interpret her poems. In 1955, Thomas H. Johnson edited from all known manuscripts The Poems of Emily Dickinson, Including Variant Readings. This edition, known as the Johnson text, attempted to report the manuscripts with complete accuracy. He later published Final Harvest a compilation of 575 of Emily’s best works of poetry. Our program will be held in the beautiful Taylor House Museum, located at 208 N. Main St. in historic Berlin.
