Open Mic Night

Our Open Mic event is an opportunity for artists of all genres (musicians, poets, comedians, rappers, and others) to gather and share their talents with each other and their audience, and to build an understanding and acceptance of the diversity that is ART. Teddy Roosevelt: from Rough Rider to President

Meet Teddy Roosevelt! He will share stories full of great adventure, humor, & a positive message. This program is presented by Historian & TV actor Brian Patrick Mulligan. He has performed around the country portraying Teddy Roosevelt for over 15 years. As an actor he has guest starred on Scandal, The Office, Castle, Hannah Montana, & more.

Nick Haglich - Live at the Library

Kick off your weekend by coming to see local singer and guitarist Nick Haglich, live at the library! Nick will play favorites from the 1960s and 1970s. Light refreshments will be provided.

One Maryland One Book Program: Music of the West African Kora
Wednesday, November 1 - 1 pm
Location: Ocean Pines Branch
Presenter Sean Gaskell will play music on the West African Kora and talks about its origins. The West African Kora is a 21 string harp that is native to the Mandinka people of Gambia, Senegal, Mali, Guinea and Guinea Bissau. It dates back 300 years, although some of the music comes from the middle 13th century around the founding of the Mandinka empire. Sean studied with master Kora players Malamini Jobarteh and Moriba Kuyateh from the Gambia over the course of multiple visits.
