Donna Washington’s parents were in the military so she spent her childhood travelling all over the world. During these years she learned about different people, places and of course, learned their culture and their stories.
Donna attended Northwestern University in the theater department. It was at this time that she came to realize she wanted to make storytelling a central part of her performing life. In additions to being an actress and an author, she is a multiple award winning recording artist.

Finalist. She will present "A Songwriter's Journey Through American Music" which is part of the Smithsonian Institute’s traveling exhibit "New Harmonies: Celebrating American Root’s Music."
