New Berlin Branch Project

New Berlin Branch Library

Located on Harrison Avenue behind the site of the current library, the proposed new Berlin Branch Library will replace the existing library that was built in 1970.

Project Objectives:

* Increase the facility space from 3,038 SF to 11,000 SF
* Provide community meeting rooms, an art gallery, and performance space
* Expand children and teen reading areas
* Create an interactive children’s area that encourages learning and promotes school readiness
* Increase the number of public computers and supply access for laptops and other wireless devices
* Incorporate the natural setting and expand the community garden options

Community Funded Amenities:

We anticipate that funds to construct the new library will be provided by the Town of Berlin, the County and the State, however the following amenities will have to be funded by contributions from the community.
* Lighting and equipment for community meeting rooms, art gallery, and performance space
* Furniture and equipment for interactive children’s area
* Increased number of public computers and adequate connectivity for laptops and other devices
* Improved building functionality, better lighting, and comfortable seating
* An expanded community garden
