  • Diversity Photo Contest - Chose Civility
    In celebration of the Chose Civility program, the library is sponsoring a photography contest for Worcester County students grades 6 - 12. We are seeking digital photographs or a photo collage that express diversity and what it means to the student. This can be a single photo, a photo collage, or another creation that using photography to express the desired theme. Along with the photo, contestants are asked to submit a brief description that explains "tells the story" of the photograph. The contest is open to all high schools students residing in Worcester County.

    To enter, send photographs to "contact@worcesterlibrary.org" with the subject line" Diversity Photo Contest. Include your name, school, grade, phone number, and brief description.

    Judging - the evaluation of any art form is a subjective process. Our judges will base their decision on theme (60%), composition (20%), and technique (20%). Winning entries will be shared on the library's website and social media platforms.

    Prizes 1st Place - $150 Amazon Gift Card / 2nd Place - $100 Amazon Gift Card / 3rd Place - $50 Amazon Gift Card

    Contest Deadline - Monday, April 30, 2018, 5 pm EST

  • Writing for Wellness
    Monday, April 23 - 1:30 - 3 pm

    Location: Ocean Pines Branch
    Research has shown that writing about stressful experiences, like illness, may boost health & psychological well-being. Group uses exercises to stimulate the process for creative expression. No prior writing experience needed. This program is facilitated by Andrea Schlottman.


  • Mindfulness
    Tuesday, April 24 - 2 pm

    Location: Ocean Pines Branch
    Want to learn how to be calmer, more focused and less stressed? Join us in this 6-session workshop on Mindfulness. Combining information, discussion, and practice, we will learn together how to be more “present” in our everyday lives.


  • Information Literacy “Smartphone Hints and Tips”
    Wednesday, April 25 - 2 pm

    Location: Ocean Pines Branch
    Stumped by your smartphone, or just want to learn more? Join us for a session that will cover the basics, plus extras like adding and removing apps, creating new home screens, and accessing file storage. Android and Apple users welcome.



  • Story Time “Daughters and Sons”
    Thursday, April 26 - 10:30 am

    Location: Ocean Pines Branch
    Enjoy stories, movement, songs, and crafts. For ages 2 to 5.
