Join guest author Jeff Smith as he talks about the Mesabi Project and the book, "The Mesabi Pioneers". In the early 1890's brothers discovered iron ore in the dense pine woods of northern Minnesota. Mesabi pioneers tells the story of the immigrants who dug the ore out of the ground, carved towns from trees and built new lives for themselves and their families.

Bus Trip to Green Dragon Farmer’s Market & Auction

As the rooster crows early morn, the Green Dragon comes alive every Friday morning in the little country town of Ephrata in Lancaster County. Thousands of local shoppers have visited this local attraction since 1932 for their weekly shopping from over 400 local growers, merchants and craftsmen. Located on a 30 acre site in the heart of the Pennsylvania Dutch Country, the Green Dragon Market has grown to be one of the largest Farmers Markets in the area. The market offers visitors the choice of shopping indoors or outdoors. With 7 large market buildings and many other smaller shops, the Green Dragon merchants offer everything from "soup to nuts". Buses leave from Snow Hill behind the Post Office at 6:30 am and from the Ocean Pines Library at 7:00 am. This trip is sponsored by the Worcester County Library Foundation. Special Performance by Cellist, Jeffrey Schoyen and Violinist, Sachiho Murasugi

Jeffrey Schoyen is an active chamber musician and recitalist, and has given concerts throughout the United States, Germany, Mexico, Spain, and Ecuador. Dr. Schoyen has extensive orchestral experience and has been a member of the Opera Orchestra of New York, Pittsburgh Opera Orchestra, Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra, and Principal Cellist of the Filarmonica del Bajio in Mexico. Currently he is an Associate
Professor at Salisbury University where he teaches cello and bass, and conducts the Salisbury Symphony Orchestra. Sachiho Murasugi, violin, has performed extensively as a professional orchestral and chamber musician. As a chamber musician she has performed throughout the United States, Mexico and Spain. She is a graduate of the Manhattan School of Music and holds a doctorate from Ohio State University. Currently, she is on the music faculty at Salisbury University where she teaches upper strings and serves as concertmaster of the Salisbury Symphony.
