The Etiology and Impact of Fake News Program 2

Presenter: Dr. Samuel B. Hoff, George Washington Distinguished Professor and Law Studies Director, DSU. In this segment of the series, the specific term “fake news” is introduced. The use of the term during the 2016 campaign and the presidency of Donald Trump is reviewed. The impact of criticism against journalists, newspapers and TV stations is evaluated.

Hoff, George Washington Distinguished Professor and Law Studies Director, DSU.This segment provides a history of North Korea, including its occupation by Japan, invasion of South Korea and subsequent Korean War, rule by dynastic family, and development of nuclear weapons. The present standoff between North Korea and the United States is discussed and future scenarios explored.

A Weekend for Trolls
